Girls as Engineers!

Girls as Engineers is a national campaign initiated by the Perspektywy Education Foundation and the Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities.  The aim is to inspire girls to take up engineering in HE.  Over the past 7 years the percentage of women in technical universities has increased by 6.1%.  The campaign relies on volunteers who organise activities in technical universities just for girls.  There is also a media campaign and training for staff.

Raising Aspirations: University of Liverpool, Professor Fluffy Programme

Professor Fluffy is the project guide that inspires primary school children and their parents through an introductory journey into Higher Education.  The programme based at the University of Liverpool is implemented across Merseyside tackling inequalities for socio economically disadvantaged communities.  The programme includes Professor Fluffy visits to schools, a teacher’s pack, online resources, university visits including parents and Professor Fluffy Road show.  The programme has been evaluated as a success and has been replicated.
